Leisure
Walking (with or without a dog); gardening; identifying wildlife such as deer, rabbits, squirrels, foxes, badgers and birds in nearby fields and woods; collecting & identifying leaves, feathers, wild meadow flowers, etc; listening to birds; exploring the remains of castles along the English/Welsh border; visiting a library, museum, garden centre, stables, farm, restaurant; outing to the Forest of Dean; day trip to the seaside; making music, listening to stories, watching a favourite video/DVD/TV programme together; playing games; doing jigsaws; playing with toys, indoors or out; going on a picnic.
Swimming, horse-riding, dry-skiing and kayaking are all possible.
Art & Craft
Sketching, drawing, crayonning, watercolour painting, colouring, cutting, glueing, making collages, playdoh, plasticine, Lego, simple needlework, acting out simple drama.
Hourly sessions of very basic woodworking possible under the supervision of a fully-qualified joiner & cabinet maker/carer.
Life Skills
Making up shopping lists & going shopping for groceries etc, cooking simple dishes & meals, baking bread/biscuits/cakes, planning & organising a picnic, planning/organising & giving a small party for four, laying a table, basic kitchen hygiene & tidying-up skills.
